Traditional Lithuanian Cepelinai (Zeppelin Dumplings)

Ingredients

Dough:
– 20 Large Potatoes
– Large Egg
– Salt

Stuffing:
– 50 Dag of Mixed Ground Meat.
– Large Onion
– Spoonful of Butter
– 3 Tbsp. beef bouillon
– Salt
– Pepper
– Marjoram
– And:
– 4 Tbsp Oil
– 10 Dag of Bacon
– Onion

How to make Traditional Lithuanian Cepelinai (Zeppelin Dumplings)

Chop onions for stuffing, fry in butter. Combine with meat and broth. It is best to use meat consisting in equal parts of ground beef and pork. Season with marjoram, salt.

Boil 5 potatoes, cool, peel and mash. Peel and grate the rest on a fine grater. Press through gauze, set the juice aside for 10 minutes.

Pour off the water, combine the starch from the bottom with the grated and cooked potatoes. Add egg and salt.

Form sticks from the dough, put a portion of stuffing in the center and form oval noodles.

Cook in salted boiling water 25 minutes from flowing out. Arrange onions browned in oil with bacon on top.
