What is the typical Czech Republic cuisine?
Czech cuisine was formed under the influence of the continental cold climate and heavily influenced by Austrian cuisine. It is a filling cuisine, quite fatty and nutritious. Dishes are prepared mainly from meat, flour and potatoes. Few vegetables are eaten, mainly in the form of fried cabbage for dinner or as an ingredient in soups. The classic national dish of the Czech Republic is knedliki, a type of moist, flour and potato rolls cooked and sliced. The dumplings are served for dinner along with goulash and gravy. The Czech Republic is famous for its beer and a whole culture of beer drinking, accompanied by snacks such as cheese and sausages.
