Traditional German Potato Salad Recipe (Schwäbische Kartoffelsalat)
Ingredients for 4 servs
potatoes -1 kilo
onion -1 piece
canned cucumbers-100 grams
bouillon -125 milliliters
marjoram-1 teaspoon
parsley -1 teaspoon
salt -1 pinch
black pepper -1 pinch
oil-3 tablespoons
wine vinegar -2 tablespoons

How to make German Potato Salad (Kartoffelsalat)?
Step 1.
Scrub the potatoes thoroughly with a toothbrush and boil for 10 minutes in well-salted water. Do not drain immediately, leave covered for another 10 minutes.
Step 2.
Meanwhile, prepare a marinade of oil, vinegar, chopped onion, chopped parsley and herbs. Mix thoroughly with broth and season to taste.
Step 3
Rinse the potatoes with cold water. Cut into large cubes and throw into the marinade.
Step 4.
While waiting for the potatoes to cool completely, dice the pickled cucumbers. If they have very large seeds, scoop out the centers and cut only the very tops.
Step 5.
Drain the potatoes from the marinade and mix. Kartoffelsalat is best eaten as it is in Germany, instead of salad and potatoes, serve with roasts or chops.
